The rubber blades of windscreen wipers can become damaged easily if a vehicle is parked for a considerable time under the sun. The blades which are usually stuck to the windscreen will become less elastic and hardened, and will cause scratches to the windscreen when the wipers are used. The Wiper Saver consists of a solenoid and an iron core. It is fixed at the foot of the wipers so that is will not disturb the wipers movement when they are in use. When the car engine is switched off, the iron core will be ejected from the solenoid. This is due to the magnetic field charged between the solenoid and the iron core which occurs when the car engine is switched off. The iron core will act as a support as the wipers will be lifted up approximately 2 cm from the windscreen. The Wiper Saver can be powered by a 12 Volt battery or higher which is already equipped in the cars by the manufacturers. |
